Janet A. Duda

Janet “Jan” A. (Lokitis) Duda, age 85 of Conshohocken, died on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was born in Shamokin, PA on October 18, 1935 daughter of the late Nicholas and Estelle Irene (Kerstetter) Lokitis. She was the beloved wife of John “Jack” L. Duda for over 63 years. Born and raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Jan graduated from Coal Township High School Class of 1953. She earned her Registered Nursing (RN) license from Ashland State Hospital, Ashland, PA in 1957. Jan and Jack were high school sweethearts, who married in 1957 and raised their family in Conshohocken. She was employed at Dr. Eugene Labowskie’s family practice and later with Dr. Marc Neiberg on 9th & Fayette Street in Conshohocken for over 40 years where many will remember her as a loving and caring nurse. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, and great grandma – a bright light in this world and the heart of our family. She was a volunteer at her children’s schools, a #1 fan at her kids and grandkids sporting and theater events, a proud member of the choir at her church, an active and vibrant woman who loved to polka dance with Jack and many of their friends, walk, do aerobics, swim, and she enjoyed the Phillies. Beside her husband, Jack, she is survived by: 4 children, John D. Duda (Stephanie) of Hermosa Beach, California, Pamela J. Duda of Gulph Mills, Gary L. Duda (Collette) of Phoenixville and Kevin M. Duda of Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren, (Gabrielle, Ashlyn, and Patrick), (Rachel, Natalie, Carli, J.J., and Luke; a great-grandson, Liam; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Starr. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jan’s life on Tuesday morning, February 9th, from 9-10:30 AM at the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette St., Conshohocken. Due to current Covid-19 guidelines, a service and burial will be held privately and restricted to immediate family only at Gulph United Church of Christ and Cemetary, West Conshohocken.
