Edward J. Lincul

Edward J. Lincul, age 72, of West Norriton, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Monday, January 12, 2026, after a heroic battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Ed was born on October 13, 1953, at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. He was the son of Elizabeth M. (Moore) Lincul and the late Rudolph A. Lincul, Sr. Ed was the beloved husband of Linda (Bonner) Lincul, with whom he shared over 46 years of marriage. They met 50 years ago, and he spent every day with the love of his life. Ed was always up for an adventure with Linda, whether it was trying a new restaurant or traveling. Their favorite places to travel included Hawaii, California, Florida and anywhere with a beach. They loved making memories together. Always and Forever! Ed grew up in Norristown, attending St. Francis School through seventh grade before moving to Fayette Street in Conshohocken, where he attended St. Matthew’s Grade School and Archbishop Kennedy High School. He later graduated from Montgomery County Community College. Ed began his career with Bell of Pennsylvania in August 1971, directly out of high school. Over the years, he held many roles, including truck transportation and phone installer beginning in 1974, working throughout the Main Line. Following AT&T’s divestiture, he became a computer programmer in New Jersey. In 1986, Ed returned to Bell Atlantic as a computer programmer at the Computer Center located at Temple University. He later transitioned into the Telecommunications IT Department, supporting executive leadership. Ed retired from Verizon in 2011 after 40 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, Ed continued doing what he loved—working with people and solving IT challenges—serving as IT Manager for McMahon Leasing for many years, and, until recently, as IT Director for Corbett Incorporated. Beyond his professional career, Ed’s heart belonged to West Norriton Little League, where he devoted 37 years as a coach, President, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large. A respected mentor and advisor to countless coaches and parents, Ed was known for always saying “yes” when help was needed. In recognition of his lifelong dedication, he was inducted into the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame in 2021. Ed also served the community as a member of the West Norriton Township Zoning Hearing Board for 13 years and volunteered at Visitation CYO as both a coach and board member for all of his children’s sports. He was loyal both to his community and his parish, Visitation B.V.M., volunteering his time wherever needed. When Ed had free time, he loved riding his bike along the Schuylkill River Trail and the Chester Valley Trail. He loved riding both with his wife and with his family. He proudly taught all his grandchildren how to ride and cherished riding with them—especially along the boardwalk at the beach. One of Ed’s favorite places was Ocean City, New Jersey, where he would load up “VanGoo” and relax at the beach with his entire family. If Ed wasn’t working or on vacation, he could be found at the fields watching his grandchildren’s sporting events—never missing a game. He loved to spoil them with ice cream after every event. He could never pass up a chocolate ice cream cone or vanilla milkshake. Ed had many loyal friends and family, and he was as loyal of a person as it came. If you needed a helping hand Ed was your guy, and was very generous with his time, talents and company: he jumped at fixing things and solving problems, he helped his kids move across the country (multiple times) and enjoyed being everyone’s designated driver. Ed was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and watched every single game. His favorite player of all time was Mike Schmidt. In a deeply meaningful moment for Ed and his family, the Phillies honored him on Lou Gehrig’s Day with an on-field ceremony. Ed shared his love of baseball with everyone, especially with his grandson Owen. In addition to his wife, Linda, Ed is survived by his daughter Stacey E. Weaver (Matt), and son Ryan A. Lincul (Jenny); brothers Rudolph A. Lincul Jr. and David A. Lincul (Annette), and sister Suzanne Lamlin (William); and six grandchildren who were the loves of his life—Owen, Olivia, Grace, Bennett, Sophia, and Nolan. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in law, brother- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Matthew E. Lincul. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday morning, Jan 20th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church, 190 N. Trooper Road, Trooper, PA 19403. Mass immediately follows at 11:00 a.m. in the Church. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Norriton Little League.
